Episode 3 Sneak Peek: The Rainbow That Followed the Rain

By The Milo & Mila Team

Episode 3 Sneak Peek: The Rainbow That Followed the Rain
a prism, a promise, and a very wet morning

"A rainbow is millions of raindrops, all showing off at once."

Episode 3 begins the morning after our longest rain yet. Bramblewood is one big puddle, the sky looks freshly washed, and over the far hill a pale arc of color is just beginning to wake up.

The question this time belongs to Mila: what makes a rainbow appear? It rained all morning with no rainbow at all — so why does one show up only after the rain stops?

Oliver the owl leads this adventure, and his treehouse laboratory gets its big moment: a sunbeam, a glass prism, and the astonishing discovery that plain white light is secretly carrying every color at once. Red bends least. Violet bends most. The rest line up politely in between.

Then comes our favorite sequence we've ever made: Milo and Mila imagine shrinking down small enough to stand inside a raindrop — because every raindrop, Oliver explains, is a tiny round prism throwing its own fan of colors.

By the end, the whole cast gathers on the hilltop under a double rainbow, and Mila lands the line our writers' room cheered for: the rainbow isn't really in the sky — it's being handed to us, drop by drop.

And because every answer opens a door, Episode 3 ends with the question that starts Episode 4: if rain and sun make rainbows... where does the rain come from?
